Mr. David Williamson, B. Com. ‘83
Senior Executive Vice President and Group Head,
Retail and Business Banking, CIBC

David launched his career at CIBC in January 2008 as Senior Executive Vice President and CFO. In March 2011, he was appointed Senior Executive Vice President and Group Head, Retail and Business Banking where he is responsible for CIBC’s personal and business banking operations.

Following his graduation from DeGroote in 1983, and attaining his designation as a chartered accountant, David had the opportunity to gain international banking experience working in the UK and Europe, including the Bank of International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland. His impressive professional path then led him to such roles as President and CEO of Derlan Industries, Executive Vice President and CFO of Clarica Life Insurance and President and CEO of Atlas Cold Storage.

David has participated as a board member of several public and private companies in Canada, the US, Mexico and Barbados. He was also a valuable member of McMaster’s campaign cabinet from 2008 to 2010.
