issues in corporate governance and financial reporting, including
the measurement, reporting, and analysis of financial information
to both internal and external users. Accounting courses in both DeGroote’s
Honours Commerce and MBA programs are recognized by the three professional
accounting organizations in Canada: the Institute of Chartered Accountants
of Ontario (ICAO), the Society
of Management Accountants of Ontario (CMA
Ontario), and the Association of Certified General Accountants
of Ontario (CGA Ontario).
Most students obtain professional accounting accreditation and pursue

Finance consistently ranks as the top choice for specialization among DeGroote MBA students. Finance is an integral business activity - financial markets define, value, and allow the exchange of claims over all business assets, both tangible and intangible. Corporate financial officers manage working capital, assess acquisitions and divestitures, and determine the least expensive sources of capital. Finance quantifies and analyzes all aspects of business in order to maximize investor wealth.
