WILLI H. WIESNER

Dr. Willi H. Wiesner received his Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Waterloo, where he specialized in Personnel Psychology. He has taught at the Faculty of Commerce at Concordia University in Montreal and is currently Associate Professor of Human Resource Management and Chair of the Human Resources and Management Area of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Dr. Wiesner is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association, the Canadian Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (U.S.), the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada, and the Academy of Management. He has served as Institute Coordinator and President of the Canadian Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Professional Activities
Dr. Wiesner has published in journals such as Organizational Behaviour and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Occupational Psychology, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, and Canadian Journal of Psychology. In addition, he has contributed book chapters on employment interviewing and recently co-authored the book, Recruitment and Selection in Canada. Dr. Wiesner has extensive consulting experience in the areas of employee selection, team building, performance appraisal, and other personnel issues. His recent clients include the Accelio Corporation (formerly JetForm), Air Liquide, the McQuaig Institute, Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (as an Associate of Human Resources Systems Group, Ottawa), Drake Personnel, the Bartlett Group, St. Peter's Hospital, Grand River Hospital Corporation, the RCMP, Halton Regional Police Services, Tires Only, AFG Glass, and the Department of National Defence. Dr. Wiesner has also presented workshops on employee selection, performance appraisal, training and development, and on team building through the Executive Development Office in the School of Business at McMaster University. His recent research and publication activities have focussed on employment interviewing and selection, group decision-making, and team effectiveness.
