CATHERINE CONNELLY

Dr. Catherine E. Connelly’s research focuses on the attitudes and behaviors of non-standard workers (e.g., temporary workers, part-time workers, independent contractors, board members, volunteers, mobile workers), and ways in which employees’ use of different communication methods are affected by their attributes and attitudes. Dr. Connelly is also researching knowledge transfer (e.g., knowledge sharing and knowledge hiding) in organizations, with a particular focus on how individual and interpersonal factors affect workers’ enthusiasm and reluctance to transfer their knowledge to colleagues. Dr. Connelly's research is funded by SSHRC. In 2006, she was the winner of the Basu teaching award.

Dr. Connelly’s research has been published in a number of journals including the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Management, the Journal of Organizational Behavior, the Journal of Vocational Behavior, the Journal of Management Information Systems, Information & Management, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Human Resource Management Review, Career Development International, Leadership & Organization Development, and the Journal of Curriculum Theorizing. She has also contributed chapters to several books including the Handbook of Organizational Behavior, Research in Personnel and Human Resources Management, Underemployment: Psychological, Economic, and Social Challenges, Understanding the Employee-Organization Relationship: Advances in Theory and Practice, Leading in Turbulent Times, and the Handbook of Research on Contemporary Theoretical Models in Information Systems. Dr. Connelly serves on the Editorial Board of Human Relations.
