Sana was born into an academic family, so expecting to be a scholar was not really out of reach. He completed an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering (Sharif University of Technology, Iran, 2005). He had his first conference presentation in 2004 and became the first undergraduate student in his faculty to present a paper in an International Industrial Engineering Conference. After two years of work experience for well-known international companies, Sana decided to continue graduate studies in Information Technology and Management (University of North Carolina, NC, 2007-2009). He was involved in a very interesting internship program at Volvo North America in the summer of 2008 before deciding to apply for the PhD program at McMaster University.
