Sophia joined the PhD program in Management Science in September 2011 and finished her comprehensive exam in June 2013.

Thesis Title: Three Essays on Product Recall Decision Optimization

Her research focuses on enhancing food safety with supply chain management tools, such as location-allocation planning. In particular, she is interested in understanding the mechanisms of food recalls in the food value chain, its financial and social impacts, and opportunities of food safety improvements.
