Return to McMaster Oversight Committee releases final recommendations report

Susan L. Tighe, Provost, and Vice-President (Academic), has announced that the Return to McMaster committees have been developing recommendations on how to reunite on campus in the fall safely. This work involved extensive community consultations. Furthermore, a thorough consideration of the many unique needs of different departments, units, and Faculties across the University were reviewed. However, McMaster University is still working through some operational decisions dependent on the unknowns of the pandemic.

Return to McMaster Oversight Committee Report

The Return to McMaster Oversight Committee report guides what to consider when planning for the fall. Using the report’s recommendations, other key university planning committees are examining the critical areas of returning to campus. Particularly, vaccination and testing on campus, space design, parking and transportation, food and student services, student life activities, and workplace best practices. The University will be releasing further details about these areas throughout the summer months, so make sure to keep an eye on their COVID-19 website for future updates.

Though we are expecting that some Public Health measures will likely remain into the fall, everyone is optimistic. Staff, faculty, and students across McMaster are ready to come together for safe, high-impact, and exciting experiences in September.
