Professor Steiner has published more than 100 research papers in journals such as Operations Research, Management Science, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Journal of Algorithms, Journal of Scheduling, European Journal of Operational Research, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, Theoretical Computer Science and many others. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Scheduling and Advances in Operations Research. He has supervised numerous Ph.D. and M.Sc. students over the years.
Professor Steiner was Co-winner of the ORSIS Prize in 2007 (awarded by the Operations Research Society of Israel to the best paper of the year), Recipient of the DeGroote School of Business Faculty Research Excellence Award in 2008 and Recipient of the Top-Cited Article Award 2005-2010 by Discrete Applied Mathematics. He had listings in American Men and Women of Science, WHO’S WHO IN THE WORLD, WHO’S WHO IN SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING and WHO’S WHO in Canadian Business. His research has been funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, by DAAD (German Academic Exchange), by CNRS of France and the University of Sydney, Australia.
