The Directors College was founded in 2003. It is a collaborative agreement between the DeGroote School of Business and Conference Board of Canada. The College was created to deliver Canada’s first university accredited corporate director development program. Its programs, accredited by McMaster University, lead to a university designation.
The mission of The Directors College — to advance transformative governance for the benefit of business and society — is at the heart of its Gold Standard in Governance Education. This enables Directors College alumni to be forward thinking (Know), values-driven (Be), and change enabling (Do). It raises the bar for professional standards
and the dynamic relationship between corporate governance and corporate social responsibility.
The programs are delivered by a faculty of professionals, corporate directors, and academics. They cover the full range of governance, accounting, law, regulations, and human dynamics. Modules are delivered through a combination of lectures, interactive working sessions, and case studies. The College continues to develop continuing education opportunities in governance principles, practices, and insights.
