Ad Standards Canada’s Robert E. Oliver Award – Applications Now Open
Ad Standards offers a $1,500.00 scholarship annually to a full-time post-secondary student who is a Canadian citizen, or permanent resident of Canada, and is enrolled in an undergraduate Marketing program at a Canadian university or college. Successful applicants display a record of academic excellence, a commitment to volunteerism, and a genuine interest in pursuing a career in advertising or marketing.
The scholarship honours Robert E. Oliver, Ad Standards’ first president and a pioneer of Canadian advertising self-regulation. Mr. Oliver played a key role in developing the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards, sat on various charity boards, and was an accomplished student and public educator.
The DeGroote School of Business will collect applications and nominate only one student to Ad Standards, where a judging panel will then select the final recipient in May. In the event of a decision by the Judging Panel that results in a tie, the successful applicants will each receive an award of $1,000.00.
Interested applicants should contact Alexis Norvack in DSB 112 for an application.
