CPA Ontario Centre at DSB is announcing an opportunity for Commerce and MBA students to engage with academic research. Students gain valuable insights regarding research and important skills that can enhance their future opportunities whether in academia or in pursuit of other career goals. Students can apply for this grant by completing a research proposal.

What you need to know:

  • This opportunity is supported by CPA Ontario Centre at DSB
  • Student support is capped at $1,000 for each successful research proposal awarded
  • This opportunity is open to all Commerce and MBA students proposing a research project
  • The applicant should find a faculty supervisor who can help the applicant pick the topic and review the proposal before submitting it.

Next steps:

If you wish to pursue this funding, please complete the Research Proposal Form and email to Dr. Justin Jin (jinjus@mcmaster.ca) by Wednesday, March 15. CPA Ontario Centre will select the best three research proposals.

The topic of research proposals for 2023 competition is: Select an Industry and a Company to Research Corporate Financial or Managerial Accounting Strategies in Post-Pandemic Era. The applicant should submit the final research report by August 31, 2023.
