Study and Online Exam Spaces on Main Campus

Looking for a space to study and take online exams this month at McMaster University? We’ve got you covered with classroom study halls, classroom online test rooms and library spaces.

What you need to know:

  • First come, first serve basis
  • Complete your daily MacCheck before coming to these locations, as well as respect the appropriate masking and food/beverage rules, as indicated
  • Need some help finding these spaces on campus?

Classroom study halls

Food and beverages are allowed in these spaces.

  1. Michael G. DeGroote Centre for Discovery and Learning (MDCL) 1305
    Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  2. Peter George Centre for Living and Learning (PGCLL) B138
    Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
    Saturday: 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Classroom online test rooms

Food and beverages are allowed in these spaces.

  1. Preliminary Laboratory (T13) Room 106 & Room 123
    Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    Saturday: 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
    T13 is located near the Health Sciences Centre by the Main Street West entrance to campus.

Mills and Thode libraries regular hours until December 21 

Food and beverages are not allowed in these spaces. Masking is required at all times.

Thode Library

Monday to Thursday: 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mills Library

Monday to Thursday: 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday: Noon to 7 p.m.

Mills Learning Commons (only extended hours until December 22)

Monday to Thursday until December 21: 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Friday, December 10 & 17: 8:00 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday, December 11 & 18: 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday, December 12 & 19: 12 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Wednesday, December 22: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
