Being able to deliver a compelling, engaging presentation is about more than just “looking good”. Strong speech and delivery skills increase persuasiveness, improve clarity, and help build trust and rapport with your audience. In this dynamic workshop, public speaking and communication professional Lauren Sergy will teach you important verbal and non-verbal techniques to help you increase your confidence and impact as a speaker. You will learn speech techniques that increase your clarity, body language strategies that boost your presence, and approaches to audience engagement that help build rapport with those you’re speaking with.

As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify audience needs within a given presentation and apply that to their public speaking approach
  • Use specific verbal speech techniques to improve their clarity and impact
  • Use non-verbal and body language strategies to add depth to their communication and build rapport with their audience
  • Apply awareness of culture and context to their public speaking choices

Workshop outline

  • Part 1: Understanding the role of speaking technique and “executive presence” in communication
  • Part 2: Non-verbal communication skills
  • Part 3: Verbal communication skills
  • Part 4: Developing your personal communication style and enhancing your authenticity
