We invite you to participate in our newest initiative: “Convocation Shout-Out Video: Commemorating the Class of 2024”. This project celebrates the unwavering support and love our parents have provided throughout our academic endeavors. Whether they cheered us on during late-night study sessions, sent care packages, or simply listened when we needed it most, their encouragement has been invaluable.

How Can You Participate?

  • Record a Short Video: Take a moment to express your gratitude. Share a personal message, a memory, or simply say “thank you” to your parents.
  • Be Authentic: Your video doesn’t need to be polished or scripted. Authenticity is what makes it special.

This video will enter you into a contest to win either a Spikeball set or a Campus Store Frame for your degree (valued at $120).

We will select a handful of clips to be featured in our convocation day video for your friends and family to cherish on the day of your faculty’s ceremony. This video will be played during the pre-ceremony as your loved ones wait for convocation to begin.

Submitting your clip:

  • Submit your video clip here!
  • The last day to submit is Friday, May 3, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.
  • Make sure to record your name, email address and faculty of graduation and record in landscape mode – or your clip may not be featured in our video.
    • Check out our sample video here.

Please feel free to contact Noor Ahmad, at ahmadn1@mcmaster.ca with any questions.

Thank you for being part of our McMaster University family. We can’t wait to see your heartfelt messages.
