Meet Angela Fortino, Academic Advisor:

What do you do and how long have you been at DSB? I am an Academic Advisor at the DeGroote School of Business. I have worked in this role for 9 years and have been at McMaster for 20 years. As an advisor, I support students with course selection and ensure that they stay on track with program requirements and can successfully progress from year to year up to graduation. I meet one on one with students but also offer group advising and drop-ins. Our services are in person as well as virtual appointments.

What is the best piece of advice you would give a new student? I encourage all new students to join a DeGroote School of Business club on campus which will allow you to expand your social network and feel a sense of connection to the school and your program.

What is your favourite Hamilton location to visit or restaurant to eat at? As a Hamiltonian, I enjoy the restaurants on Locke St and James St North. My top two are Cima Enoteca, and Rapscallion & Co. Both offer outstanding food and an amazing atmosphere all year round.

What is your favourite ice cream flavour? Salted Caramel… Yum!

What is your favourite book or podcast? Past summer book: Where the Crawdads Sing
