The Career and Professional Development (CPD) team delivers innovative excellence in three key areas: Career Development, Strategic Employer Partnerships, and Experiential Learning. The team supports BCom, MBA, MFin, and MSc in eHealth students in securing summer, co-op, internship, and new grad job opportunities during their full-time studies at DeGroote.

Meet Danielle Burley, Associate, Recruitment and Events (BCom):

What do you do and how long have you been at DSB? I have had the honour of being a part of this amazing team for the past nine months. I am responsible for recording your entire internship and making sure you are all on track for success in the program. When you message bcom.cpd@mcmaster.ca, I am the one on the other end helping navigate your inquiries and connecting you with the right people. When an employer wants to host an event on campus, I am behind the scenes setting the event up to bring great opportunities to network with some amazing companies.

What is the best piece of advice you would give a new student? Continue to monitor your McMaster email while on internship to make sure you are receiving all the wonderful updates and opportunities we share.

What is your favourite hobby? Video games: COD, Zelda, Resident Evil, Elden Ring, Fortnite – you name it. I have probably played it.

What is your favourite Hamilton location to visit or restaurant to eat at? My favourite location to visit in Hamilton is along Concession Street, behind the hospital there is a trail that overlooks the escarpment. Born and raised in Hamilton and the view from there can still take my breath away. Hamilton is Home!
