National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – No Classes

| September 21, 2023
Submitted by Ericka Wagner for McMaster University

September 30 marks Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a time to recognize and commemorate the ongoing and tragic legacy of residential schools.

This is an important date for the McMaster community. While the university will be open with faculty and staff working as usual, no classes or exams are scheduled for Saturday, September 30 as noted on the Office of the Registrar’s website under dates and deadlines. This presents an opportunity for our campus community to take time to reflect on the broader issues related to truth and reconciliation.

While classes are cancelled, students in co-ops and placements are asked to follow the direction of their placement supervisors or employers.
