Submitted by Bani Rafeh for PhD

You’ve worked hard on your research, now you need to share it with others. The School of Graduate Studies is offering a new program to help you do just that!

The Op-Ed Writing Program starts with a presentation from Wade Hemsworth, manager, Media Relations at McMaster, on how to pitch and write an op-ed for a broad audience. After the presentation, you’ll have time to digest what you’ve learned, brainstorm ideas, and begin working on your article or pitch. Finally, you’ll be able to book an appointment with Wade to discuss your WIP (work-in-progress) and get valuable feedback.

The program is open to graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.

Details:

  • Tuesday, January 16
  • Time: 10:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Location: Connections Centre, Mills Library 1st Floor, McMaster Main Campus

Register here.

If you have questions or accommodation needs, please contact Catherine Maybrey, coordinator Postdoctoral Affairs and Research Training, postdoc@mcmaster.ca.

Participants can book their 20-minute follow up feedback appointment with Wade on the following dates:

  • January 25
  • February 1
