Be paid to engage in a real-world management/leadership experience while having your brain activity measured by state-of-the-art neuroscience technology in the world renowned LIVELab at McMaster! This is a cutting-edge neuroscience research!

LIVELab is conducting a study with The School of Business from January 24 – 27. We’re looking for 250 participants to be measured using EEG while conducting a group task.

Participants must be McMaster students and they will have to create an account and register through SONA which is the PNB Research Participation System. After signing up, search for SONA Study #83 LIVELab STUDY: Group physiology in a cooperative task and choose a time slot. This is a volunteer opportunity for those students outside of Psychology. (Psych students receive SONA credit for their course).

Participants who are not collecting participation credit for their course, can choose to either receive a volunteer letter for their time or $20 in compensation.

Here are some details about the study:

  • This study will be conducted in the LIVELab
  • After giving informed consent, participants complete surveys and a problem solving task. They will then be fitted with an EEG cap and heart rate sensors. They will be taken to a testing room within the LIVELab, seated in groups of three, view a video, then complete the problem solving task again as a group. Finally they will complete a set of short surveys and a background survey.
  • We will video record the small group task for later analysis which requires participants to take part without a mask in this section only.

The LIVELab is located on the second floor of the Psychology Building, Room 202. Please sign up for a time slot in SONA.
