Understanding the Canadian Tax System

Confused about how taxes work in Canada? Attend this workshop to learn about the various taxes paid in Canada and the types of benefits you can receive as an international student.

Topics covered will include understanding the meaning of residency status, mandatory taxes that residents pay (through employment and purchases), the Tax Deduction Form (TD1) and important tax benefits and credits available when filing your income tax return. Information will be provided on resources and supports available to Mac Students for free income tax filing.

  • Time: 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • Register on OSCARplus. Registration is kindly required.
