Business I Students: Program Selection Tool is now open!

Submitted by Vanessa Lam for Student Experience - Academic

The Program Selection Tool is now open on Mosaic. This is a university-wide portal that all students must complete that declares your desired program for Level 2 next year (2023-2024).

Business 1 students must complete the Program Selection Tool by the end of April.

There are three main options for Business 1 students when completing the Program Selection Tool:

  1. You want to continue into Level 2 Commerce:
    • Use the Program Selection Tool to show the University that you plan to continue into Level 2 of the Commerce program. Select “Business Honours Commerce” as your first choice (this is the formal name for the second year, or Level 2, of the Commerce program).
  2. You want to continue into Level 2 Commerce, but may not satisfy the requirements to continue in the Commerce program:
    • Use the Program Selection Tool to indicate that you want to move into Level 2 Commerce (select “Business Honours Commerce” as your first choice), but select a second choice as a back-up program just in case.
  3. You want to transfer out of Commerce and into a different program at McMaster:
    • We always hope students are in a program that they love, and it is okay if you want to transfer into another program that is a better fit.
    • To transfer, review the admission requirements for your program of interest. Have questions on another Faculty’s requirements? Please reach out to that Faculty directly.
    • List your programs in order of choice. If you are not admitted to your first choice, you will be reviewed for your second choice, etc.
    • Mosaic will automatically accept you into the first program for which you are eligible.

Are you a Level 2 or Level 3 Commerce student? You do not have to do anything unless you want to transfer out of the Commerce program.

Once your program for Level 2 is confirmed in early June 2023, it will be available in the “My Academics” page on the Student Centre.
