CFA Society Toronto: Undergraduate Awards (Level 3 & 4)

This award recognizes third and fourth-year undergraduate finance or economics students in Ontario who have demonstrated excellence in academics and extracurricular activities. Applicants may submit an essay for one of three scholarships. No prior knowledge or experience with the CFA designation is required but being enrolled in the CFA Program will be considered a plus. Finalists will be subject to a telephone interview with a judging panel.

  • First Place $3,000 CAD
  • Second Place $2,000 CAD
  • Third Place $1,000 CAD

Prize money can be used at the winners’ discretion. In addition to receiving a monetary prize, winners will also be recognized at the CFA Society Toronto Annual Awards Reception, acknowledged in The Analyst publication, our website and social media channels.

To be eligible for this award, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a third- or fourth-year finance or economics program at an Ontario university
  • Possesses a minimum 3.0 GPA (or equivalent)
  • Is able to submit an application in English
  • CFA Candidate ID will be considered a plus
  • If applying for a fourth-year award: hasn’t previously won a third-year award

Apply with the following documents:

  • Application form
  • Current résumé
  • 500 word essay on why they should be selected for this award
  • Full unofficial transcript of the applicant’s first- and second-year grades for third-year applicants and also third-year grades for fourth-year applicants

Please note, it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure all application materials have been submitted by the deadline date. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. CFA Society Toronto reserves the right not to grant an award in a given year.
