Learn About the Deferred Final Examination Process

The Fall 2021 final exam period started on December 9 and runs through December 22.

If you cannot complete your final exam during the scheduled date and time, please follow the Deferred Final Examination Process:

• Fill out a Deferred Examination form
• Once completed, please submit the form to the Student Experience Office via email at buscom@mcmaster.ca

What you need to know:

• You cannot defer a final exam that has already been completed or attempted
  • Attempting online work includes opening a test/quiz on Avenue to Learn or other platforms
• You have five business days from the date of the missed exam to complete this process
  • If your request is approved, your deferred examination must be written in the next deferred examination period, which will take place during the Winter 2022 Midterm Recess (Tuesday, February 22 to Friday, February 25)
• You are required to write your deferred exam in the same format it was originally provided (i.e. Avenue to Learn, Respondus)
• No further accommodation will be made regarding the completion of this course component
