Missed (Or Will Be Missing) Your Midterm? Here’s What To Do!

Submitted by Ericka Wagner for McMaster University

When a DeGroote student misses a midterm test for legitimate reasons (as determined by the Student Experience – Academic Office) there are two possible options for making up the work:

  • If enough notice is given (10 business days prior to the scheduled midterm) and the instructor is willing, the Student Experience – Academic Office can schedule a re-write of the test.
  • Any requests received within the 10 business days, on the day of, or within 24 hours after the originally scheduled midterm, will be left to the discretion of the instructor for how the missed marks will be made up (e.g. the weight of the test can be redistributed across other evaluations).

Do not forget to complete your MSAF-AR Form. Learn more about our Missed Coursework Policy here.

If you are representing McMaster or Canada at an academic or varsity event, please follow the Athletic and Recreation department’s procedure. The Athletic Program Administrator, John Ngeleka, must confirm the conflicting event.

Questions? Email the Student Experience – Academic team at buscom@mcmaster.ca and include your full name and student ID number.
