St. Michael’s Hospital Stock Pitch contest: “The Broker”
Register for The Broker, a health-care stock pitch competition for up-and-coming finance professionals that also raises funds for St. Michael’s Hospital, a global powerhouse in medical research, education and patient care located in Toronto. The competition is set to take place this fall. We are calling on students to showcase your business and pitching skills in front of your peers and leaders in the financial sector.
Enter the competition individually or as a team of up to three. You’ll select a health care investment from a list of 10 publicly traded companies based in North America. To download the list of companies, click here.
The competition has two divisions, undergraduate students and graduate students, and will unfold over two rounds, with the top teams advancing to the next round. Participants who make it to the final round of competition will pitch on Competition Day to a panel of judges of Bay Street veterans in-person at a soon to be disclosed venue, with a virtual option.
The winning team will be awarded various gift cards and have an opportunity to join coffee chats with some of the most experienced finance professionals in the city including:
- Ram Amarnath – Vice-Chair of RBC Capital Markets & Global Co-Head of Financial Sponsors Group
- Richard Rooney – Co-Founder of Burgundy Asset Management
- Pat Meneley – Current Chair of St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, former Head of TD Securities
- Peter Gordon – Managing Partner and COO of Brookfield Private Equity
The event concludes with a social that offers additional networking opportunities. All funds raised will go to support groundbreaking medical research and life-changing patient care at St. Michael’s Hospital.
