The Student Wellness Centre and Student Open Circles: Grief Support Sharing Circle | February 10, March 10 and April 7

A collaboration between Open Circle and Student Wellness, there is a mutual support group for students who are experiencing loss or anticipatory grief, due to the death of a loved one. This group is a safe and confidential space for sharing experiences of grief while respecting each other’s questions, feelings, viewpoints or spirituality as it relates to each person’s healing process. This month’s theme is coping with grief and loss in the time of COVID-19 and is facilitated by Marybeth Leis Druery and Simone Gomes, M.S.W., R.S.W.

  • Facilitated reflective exercises
  • Education about grief and loss
  • Peer sharing and support
  • Creative exercises
  • Mindfulness
  • Self-compassion based exercises

What you need to know:

  • To receive the event link, e-mail your name, phone number, emergency contact number and address of where you will be located during the meeting to Marybeth Leis Druery at leismb@mcmaster.ca
  • You must be located within Canada at time of meeting to take part in this therapeutic group
